Background

Celtic Grid Consulting (CGC) was set up in 2007 to provide first-class, professional IT and business services. Previously located on the Isle of Man, we relocated to Buffalo for family reasons and brought Celtic Grid Consulting across the Atlantic Ocean with us. Now our services are marketed to the Buffalo area with the same focus on customer service.

Our principal is MBA qualified, a Chartered Member of the British Computer Society (BCS), a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner and a Professional Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

BCS Chartered logoBCS Chartered logoThe British Computer Society (BCS) is the leading professional body for those working in IT. BCS has over 60,000 members in more than 100 countries and is the qualifying body for Chartered IT Professionals (CITP). BCS was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1984. Its objects are to promote the study and practice of computing and to advance knowledge of and education in IT for the benefit of the public. BCS is also a registered charity.

PRINCE2 was initially developed in 1989 by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) as a UK Government standard for information systems (IT) project management. It soon became regularly applied outside the purely IT environment and was released in 1996 as a generic project management method.

PRINCE2 has become increasingly popular and is now the de facto standard for project management in the UK. Its use has spread beyond the UK to more than 50 other countries, including the USA.

ACM logoThe Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is widely recognized as the premier membership organization for computing professionals, delivering resources that advance computing as a science and a profession; enable professional development; and promote policies and research that benefit society. It is an educational and scientific society uniting the world's computing educators, researchers and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field's challenges. ACM's more than 82,000 members come from industry, academia and government institutions around the world.

Over the years CGC has provided services to companies as diverse as software development and Italian holiday villas, and has provided program & project management to organizations that include a global bank and a national postal service. In-between we have provided help to many small organizations and home users.

We are a small, professional, dedicated company - see the section lower down on our philosophy to get a feel for how we operate.

Our Philosophy

"Our philosophy" sounds a bit pretentious, but really it's just more background specifically about our approach to doing business.

Mark Vonnegut (son of author Kurt), when asked what life was all about responded, "We are here to help each other get through this thing, whatever it is." That quote nicely covers how we see our relationship with our customers - we are here to help them.

Our approach, whether dealing with organizations or with individuals in their homes, can be summarised in 5 areas:

Service

Customer service is what we are all about. We will be open and friendly, easy to deal with and will not promote anything that, although it might be in our interest, is not in your best interest.

Integrity

We are professional, operating to high standards. We are honest and trustworthy. Whether operating in a corporate or home environment we apply the same levels of integrity.

Quality

We always strive to deliver quality solutions and always welcome feedback from our customers as to how we could improve the quality of our services.

Flexibility

We operate in a discipline that is inherently linked to change and will be flexible in our approach, depending on your specific problem.

Passion

We are not happy with half-solutions or solutions that do not deliver excellence and quality. We are passionate about providing the best possible service to our customers.
